Certificate in Program Evaluation


T
he Post-Baccalaureate Graduate Certificate in Program Evaluation prepares individuals to meet the growing demand for professionals with evaluation and applied research skills. The Certificate is designed for graduate students and professionals. It is comprised of four graduate- level courses that cover both theoretical and methodological issues, including a culminating applied practicum experience that takes place within the course structure.

Four Graduate Courses (12 credits) include:

  • Introduction to Program Evaluation
  • Applied Data Collection Techniques and Analysis
  • Theory-Driven Evaluation
  • Applied Field Experience in Program Evaluation*
    *Will not require hours outside of course

Course will be offered in hybrid format, meeting approximately one Saturday per month with the remainder of work to be completed online. Enrolled students can complete the certificate program in just 10 months.

At the conclusion of this program, students will be able to: (1) identify and engage key stakeholders for evaluation purposes, (2) design and develop appropriate data collection instruments for program evaluation, (3) articulate the theories and major issues surrounding contemporary program evaluation, (4) diagnose a program’s strengths and limitations, and (5) communicate and use evaluation results to improve a program.
