Montclair State Again Named a “Green College” by Princeton Review
University is listed in “The Princeton Review’s Guide to 322 Green Colleges: 2013 Edition”
For the fourth year in a row, Montclair State University has been recognized as one of the most environmentally responsible colleges in the U.S. and Canada by The Princeton Review and included in the 2013 edition of The Princeton Review’s Guide to 322 Green Colleges.
Selected from among more than 800 colleges and universities, The Princeton Review recognized Montclair State for its commitment to sustainability highlighting, among others, the University’s PSEG Institute for Sustainability Studies, the Passaic River Institute and the New Jersey School of Conservation; the LEED-certified University Hall and the other buildings on campus that are undergoing certification; the campus-wide recycling program; mandatory use of green housekeeping products; and the solar fields that have been built on campus and at the School of Conservation.
“We are truly pleased to recommend Montclair State University along with all of the fine schools in this book to the many students seeking colleges that practice and promote environmentally responsible choices and practices,” said Robert Franek, senior vice president and publisher of The Princeton Review, noting that a recent survey indicated significant interest among college applicants in attending “green” colleges.
Released annually to coincide with the April 22 celebration of Earth Day, The Princeton Review’s Guide to 322 Green Colleges has recognized Montclair State every year since it was first published in 2009.
