No. 1 Softball Sets Program Mark for Consecutive Wins with Sweep of NJCU
Red Hawks belt five homers to remain unbeaten at 28-0
The top-ranked Montclair State University softball team hit five home runs and got another shutout from NJAC Softball Pitcher of the Week, Alex Hill, as the Red Hawks set a program record for the longest winning streak with 7-0 and 7-2 triumphs over New Jersey City University in a double-header on April 16.
The Red Hawks are undefeated at 28-0 (12-0 NJAC) and are ranked No. 1 in the nation for NCAA Division III. The 28 straight wins, already the best start in program history, is also one shy of the longest win streak in Montclair athletic history – 29 set by the women’s basketball team this season.
