Van Vleck House & Gardens Concert to Feature Performances by Two Montclair State Faculty on April 21

Boris Kucharsky and Tatyana Kebuladze to Perform Selections from Brahms, Beethoven and Suchon

Montclair State University’s John J. Cali School of Music and Van Vleck House & Gardens today announced the sixth in a series of concert collaborations that will feature a program of violin and piano pieces performed by the school’s faculty members Boris Kucharsky and Tatyana Kebuladze.

The free concert will be held on Sunday, April 21, 2013 at 2 pm at the Van Vleck House & Gardens, a center of arts and music resources for the Montclair community, located at 21 Van Vleck Street in Montclair.

The April 21 program features Boris Kucharsky, a solo violinist, chamber musician, recording artist and teacher who has taught at the Cali School since 2008.  Pianist Tatyana Kebuladze, who has been a faculty member of Montclair State since 2004, will also perform.  The accomplished musicians will perform Brahms piano pieces op. 118 and Hungarian Dances, Beethoven’s Sonata for piano and violin op. 12 no. 1 and Eugen Suchon’s Sonatina for violin and piano op. 11.

Montclair State’s Cali School is the only university-based music school in New Jersey and attracts accomplished student musicians and world-renowned faculty and visiting artists – many of whom have performed in this concert series.

The series will continue on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 12, when Van Vleck will host two more Montclair State faculty in concert at 3:30 pm. Van Vleck’s traditional Mother’s Day outdoor concert by a brass quintet from the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra will be held from 1 to 3 pm, fair weather only.

The historic Van Vleck House & Gardens is owned by The Montclair Foundation, which is dedicated to preserving the Van Vleck property for public enrichment, and horticultural education and research.  Continuing the Van Vleck family’s commitment to the community, the house serves as a center for non-profit events and is home to several New Jersey foundations.  The gardens are open to the public daily.  More information about the Van Vleck House & Gardens education programs, volunteer opportunities, workshops and events is available at www.vanvleck.org.
